Our workshop is open 8.00am — 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

This depends on the following:
 - Who has funded the equipment (ACC, Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People, private)?
 - Who issued the equipment to you (Accessable or Enable New Zealand)?
 - Where you live (Auckland and Northland, or south of the Bombay Hills)?

Accessable provides the Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People equipment repair service for Auckland and Northland regions. For other parts of the country, please contact Enable New Zealand.
Repair my equipment

Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People equipment is repaired at no cost to you.

Privately owned equipment
Privately owned equipment repairs will be at your cost. To arrange a repair you could:

• Contact Accessable repair services
• Contact an equipment supplier in your area to see if they can do the repairs, or
• Ask your local disability centre for names of equipment repair businesses in your area.

Yes, but please be aware only urgent repairs that cannot wait until normal business hours (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm) will be considered, with priority given to people who are immobilised due to the breakdown and have limited or no support people available to ensure that they are safe and basic needs are met.

Calling our normal contact numbers outside business hours will give you the option of being connected to our after-hours service. A call centre operator will take your enquiry information, process if urgent, and forward to our after-hours technician, who will contact you as soon as possible to arrange the repair.

To aid the process, where possible please have available the following details:

• The equipment type (power wheelchair/manual wheelchair, etc.)
• The equipment fault

As each job can have different requirements, we can only provide an estimate over the phone. If you bring your equipment to our workshop, we will have a better idea of the costs involved and can discuss the options with you.

Whaikaha | Ministry of Disabled People has information relating to eligibility criteria and access to equipment or services available on their website. You are responsible for day-to-day maintenance and the insurance of all equipment. Contact us for all other repairs.
Repair my equipment

Contact the specialised assessor to determine what your new needs are. If you no longer require the equipment, please contact us to arrange for the old equipment to be collected, free of charge.
Collect my equipment

If you are leaving the country, there is some equipment you can take with you. Please contact us for details. If you are moving within New Zealand, you can keep your equipment but you need to inform Accessable so we can keep a record of your new address.

You keep all equipment used for independent mobility but please contact Accessable to return all other equipment. The rest home should provide equipment for you.

Accessable engages registered, approved builders to carry out housing modifications on behalf of ACC and Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People.

Accessable engages appropriate vehicle modifiers to make the required modifications on your vehicle on behalf Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People.
